2013 Sea to Sea Tour

Los Angeles, CA to New York City, NY

Sea to Sea is a 9 week bicycle tour across North America designed to raise awareness and funds in support of those living in poverty around the world.

Hosted by the Reformed Church in America, Partners Worldwide, and the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee/World Renew-an agency of the Christian Reformed Church in North America-the tour begins June 24, 2013, in LA, CA and ends 9 weeks later in NYC. Stops include Phoenix, AZ; Rehoboth, NM; Colorado Springs, CO; Chicago, IL; Grand Rapids, MI; Toronto, ON; and Montreal, QC. Organizers expect this to be the largest bicycle tour to ever cross the US and Canada.

The ride includes 9 weeks on the road, cycling an average of 68 miles per day, resting on Sundays. Each full distance rider is required to raise $10,000 toward the cause. To ride 1 week, a rider is required to raise $2,500; 2-4 weeks-$5,000; 5 weeks-$7,500; or 6-8 weeks-$10,000.

The 2008 tour, which rode through the US and Canada, sent over $1.5 million to local, national and international agencies fighting poverty.

Funds generated through the tour will be used to support new or ongoing initiatives in the areas of business and community development, and will provide people around the world with access to clean water, immunizations, and vital medical services. Additionally, 35% of the tour proceeds will be distributed to local poverty assistance programs.
